Hapsman
I just received a cancellation notice from Air Asia for a direct flight from Phuket to Khon Kaen on Aug. 1. It seems Air Asia has suspended all flights until at least Aug. 9. I teach at Khon Kaen University and rent a townhouse in the city, so I'm anxious to get there, and will consider any method, including renting a van/driver for the trip. Currently, I am staying here in Phuket having finished the 14-day Sandbox program a few days ago. If anyone has a reasonable suggestion, I would appreciate any advice you could provide. sapson
Maybe a taxi to the mainland and a train to Bkk then to Khon kaen IF they are still running?
KhunBENQ
The sandbox trap. Tell the world. I have checked again Khon Kaen and Udon Thani aiports. Both dead. Phuket: only Singapore and Samui. Worthless. Flying in/out Bangkok is forbidden anyway. Hope you can find a one way car rent to Khon Kaen. 1290 km. It's a two day trip.
Popular Post Hapsman
Thanks for the tips. I was able to hire a private car & driver through this service: ThaiTaxiService – บริการเช่ารถพร้อมคนขับ สำหรับการเดินทาง และท่องเที่ยว (taxithaiservice.com) They promised a 6 am departure from Phuket and 9 pm arrival in Khon Kaen for 13,000 baht. Pricey, but better than the alternative of staying long term in Phuket. 2
Tuvoc
One-way car rental would probably have been hugely expensive as well, so I think that was probably the most sensible option.

Hope he does not forget his wake up pills and his urinal flask (same for you). Price is not surprising (10 Baht/km).
sanuk711
Nok is flying direct to Udon Thani------ take bus from there. https://www.nokair.com/Flight/Schedule#
Hapsman
First available flight to Udon on Nok is not until Aug. 5, and I'm not confident in how reliable that is right now. For the overland journey, there will be two cars and drivers, one from Phuket to BKK, and the other from BKK to Khon Kaen.
