Featured Replies

The Royal Government has decided to close down the 8 provinces that border Thailand as a ‘urgent’ reaction to curb the Delta variant in Cambodia.

The decision is entitled ‘Geographical blockade of Koh Kong, Pursat, Battambang, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear and Siem Reap provinces to prevent community-based transmission of Delta COVID-19 virus‘ The affected provinces that are ‘blocked’ are: Koh Kong, Pursat, Battambang, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear and Siem Reap provinces.

Travel from the affected provinces will be prohibited and Provincial Governors will have the ability to enforce curfews as well as Red, Orange and Yellow Zones . The Royal Government states that the decision was made to prevent the spread of the Delta 19 virus in the community.

This closure lasts for 14 days from 23:45 on July 29, 2021 until August 12, 2021.
