Pattaya – Pattaya City officials held a large cleaning day at the Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya yesterday, addressing concerns from some local residents about the number of people gathered in the area for food-related charity events and the potential spread of Covid-19.

Due to Covid-19 and strict restrictions and measures that have closed thousands of businesses in tourism-reliant Pattaya, many people are currently unemployed, homeless, or are on tight budgets. This has led to an increase in generous individuals and organizations helping the many devastated by Covid-19 restrictions and mandates by handing out meals and supplies on a daily basis.

Yesterday, (July 31st), a team from Pattaya City led by the Pattaya City Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai and staffers with five water trucks cleaned the multi-purpose area at the Bali Hai Pier. A video of this story is below:

Better to spend money and time providing more food support for those in need than washing the ground, outside, exposed to UV for hours a day.

Thought groups of  more than so  many werent  allowed?

Sorry for being dumb but what is "deep clean"?

Looks like washing the floor to me?

Is this a poor Thai translation?

It is a phrase they heard and liked.... just means a bit more than the occasional sweep up the place gets ever now and again.

Aha - thanks now I understand - normal cleaning rather than cleaning "Thai Style"

The one handed sweeping with the other hand resting behind the back

Another nonsensical publicity stunt with almost zero effect. The risk of infection from a contaminated surface is negligible, plus that's outdoors in a tropical climate.

Better make an effort telling people how to wear masks properly, covering both mouth and nose.

Thai government; dammed of they do/dammed if they don't.

Maybe a spray with the special water too.... that is the other morning pass-time, spraying from a short hose with low pressure, watering of plants.

Should certainly be damned

Win/win then eh?

You are correct.

Dark red zone - no more than 5 people.

So - just let them starve?

Silly rules from silly generals getting in the way of solving the problems that the generals have created.

We often see pictures in the news from East Asia with these deep cleans, very visual, but do they have any real significance in protection of spreading Covid-virus..?
