Prisons to ramp up green chiretta production to reduce new virus cases

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Minister of Justice has urged all prisons to ramp up green chiretta production as an option in COVID-19 treatment, and to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases among inmates in two weeks.

At a meeting with prison directors across the country, the Minister of Justice Somsak Thepsuthin urged all prisons to step up their own production of green chiretta to be used as a herbal remedy for COVID-19 cases among inmates.

The meeting has acknowledged the shortage of the green chiretta supply from a local manufacturer Abhaibhubejhr, with only 10,000 bottles of green chiretta capsules delivered out of 100,000 bottles ordered, containing 6 million capsules, as the manufacturer also needs to supply the general public.

Green chiretta has been promoted as a herbal alternative for COVID-19 treatment, due to its andrographolide substance that can help relieve symptoms.

The Minister of Justice said today prisons need to rely more on their own green chiretta processing, with the plant to be sourced in national parks and prison-owned plantations.

He suggested that prisons start preparing their own manufacturing line of the green chiretta product, and start learning how to dry, grind, and contain the green chiretta powder in capsules.

The Department of Corrections has already placed an order for 8 million gelatin capsules to boost the prisons’ own green chiretta production.

The Minister of Justice has urged the Department of Corrections to ensure strict health and safety measures at correctional facilities to prevent COVID-19 transmission, including proper sanitization and control of all items and food brought from outside into prisons.

He also set a target for prisons to reduce the number of new COVID-19 cases emerging among inmates, ove the next two weeks.

Snake Oil is supposed to be very good also.

Deluded, more waffle and more deflection from the fact they are totally inept and have failed...

Would be laughable if it wasn't so sad

I wonder if there is a woman with the name Chiretta Green.

This an early April fools prank, yes?

I was just talking about this with my friend and having a laugh

apparently they tested on 11,800 inmates and 99.02% of them recovered

I told my friend that if they tested with crab fried rice instead of green chiretta, it would produce the same results.

she didn't get it

it's already the normal recovery rate

In challenging times, a person's or a culture's true character shines through. Here we see the underbelly of Thai culture

Pushing untested and unscientific nonsense

'Underclass' prison inmates being the recipients of aforementioned experimental treatments

Brainwashing the public that they are doing something to maintain their own standing & position

Commanding something is resolved in X weeks/months to look 'powerful'

Shambles would be too pleasant a word.

Will definitely keep in mind for my next game of scrabble.

OK, at least now we know who owns the fah talai jone franchise.

It "MAY" relieve some symptoms, but does not treat anything or prevent infection.

Have they not read any of the studies from various institutions and medical research labs regarding this plant?

I though misinformation regarding COVID19 was a criminal offence now?

Well with luck if they get gardening now they will have grown some by next April.

Then, hmmh, what did we do with all those millions of gel capsules we bought back last August?

Without going into the debatable possible palliative effects it cannot possibly reduce infections. If you or I were to make such serious claims about such a deadly disease we would no doubt be in trouble.

Also anyone with any gardening experience realizes plants take time, good soils, gardeners and nourishment.

Possibly a bit of fresh air for inmates and a "feelgood' local success helps displace the real facts from the news for a moment.

The reality is Thailand is reduced to status of the other third world beggars dependent on the charity of UK France Japan USA and Switzerland while their citizens are treated as second class in many ways not least access to vax.

But real medicine is best... but maybe that's a luxury item?

Not any more. The snake shortage is to blame. Talks in progress by government to import snakes from neighboring countries. Delivery to be announced soon.

Stay tuned to this station..

And they allow people like him to walk among us!

Hasn't the Minister of Justice heard that spreading fake news is unlawful?

He seems to be promoting a "miracle cure" like a classic snake oil salesman, nothing more and nothing less.

Am I getting mixed up, or did they say this week that a particular herb or fruit could NOT cure Covid and was fake news?

It might depend on financial connection and considerations of who is saying it.

A bit of advice. If you start getting mixed up that's fine and it often happens to me. When I stop feeling mixed up and I think I understand it and it makes sense I book a flight back to the UK where I stay until the feeling goes away. Of course Covid 19 (that sounds so last decade doesn't it) has rather messed that up.

Sorry I forgot the 'this is humour' emojis. Wouldn't want anyone taking me seriously.

???? ????

I guess he wants to encourage prisoners to grow this plant so that the government doesn't need to waste vaccines on the inmates...

Sorry to say this but all these examples like this show how undeveloped much of Thailand still is.

I am waiting for some monk to start selling special amulets to protect against Covid.

It's not a problem when a small percentage of people are like this but in Thailand there are too many

He's only "placed an order"  like vax "orders". They probably won't arrive until next April ☺
