CP All Plc (CPALL), the operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores, recorded a drop in second-quarter earnings but beat expectations. However, current Covid-19 infections would further dampen performance even more, analysts said on Friday.

CPALL reported a net profit of 2.2 billion baht for the second quarter, beating market estimates by 20 per cent. Quarterly earnings were down 16 per cent and yearly earnings were down 24 per cent.

The company’s core profit, excluding foreign exchange gains, was 1.9 million baht.

It doesn't bode well for Prayut...

They should do well with their 15% stake in Sinovac. I just wish that it wasn't bought in such vast quantities for Thailand.

For a moment I was worried about this billionaire...a very very brief moment.

But I think he should be fine.

Worst case I personally donate him a food package, promise!

Well so nice to see CP All will he fine....not sure about Mom and Pop All, or even Local tourism worker All....

CP family doing well, the majority of other Thais business, Thai families and Thai people not so.

I prophesy Thai Tourism will rebound next year - by seven.

When the day come when this family really feel the pain in there wallet , that's the day Cha Cha time is finish as a junta leader all about the money.

The CCP won’t allow that to happen to the TCP.

CP receives state and commercial banks subsidies when loss-making.

Is that from China or Thailand or from both?

"The company’s core profit, excluding foreign exchange gains, was 1.9 million baht."

That must be a misprint.

1.9 million baht core profit or 1.9 billions?

The arithmetic weakness is blatant and no feeling for numbers. I'm always amazed when, for example, I buy something for 10 baht and pay with a 100 baht note. Then the calculator is taken out and 100 minus 10 is calculated.
