From August 24th, Kratom plants (Mitragyna speciosa) can be cultivated legally and its leaves, which contain psychotropic alkaloids, may be sold commercially in Thailand with impunity, while those being detained over Kratom-related offences, will also be released as their charges will null and void.

1,038 people serving prison terms for offences related to Kratom plants or leaves will be released, as a result of the enactment of the country’s amended narcotics law, published in the Royal Gazette on May 26th, deleting Kratom from the list of Category 5 controlled narcotics.

Government Spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said today (Friday) that the amended law will also be applied to other alleged offenders, related to Kratom, who have been arrested, are being tried in court or are pending prosecution.

That's great! Everyone can just be doped up, no need to worry anymore about Covid-19, politics, or the misery most Thais live in...

Funny how things can change when an income is needed.

So, where can buy these leaves starting August 24th? I don't see it at the markets.

I'd guess it's been illegal so the legal plant places haven't been growing it but will soon start.

They should plant Kratom trees at the new beach design in Pattaya. At least one reason to go there after they removed so many old trees.

A step in the right direction.

They'd legalise selling your granny if she was worth anything.

Does anyone have an idea where to purchase a kratom tree near province chaiyaphum or khon khean?

You will find plenty in south thailand. Just go to a fresh market and ask for it.

Great!! But will it help get rid of that 'pain-in-the-a55' feeling the Thai government have been inflicting on everyone?

Dank Kratom ?

look forward to trying it soon

I've been drinking a lot of beer lately, nothing else to do in lock down.

The liver has been complaining so I'd like to try something that gives me a buzz with without destroying my liver

I was having the same problem with my liver ie. pain from alcohol. Fortunately, here in my state in the USA, medical cannabis is legal and the shops are doing very good business. Since switching to cannabis, my liver lab tests have returned to near normal and the liver pain is permanently gone. Wish Thailand and other countries in the EU and the UK would legalize medical marijuana for the tax revenue if not for the medical benefits.

anybody tried it ? is it good ? how to take it ?  thanks.

Dry it and make tea, so I've been told or labours just chew it, start with one leaf, can be upped to 3 apparently. Is it good? I think it would depend on your own reaction to it. at present A bag of about 12 leaves costs 100 baht so i have been told .

Cannabis oil is legal in Thailand since about a year THC and CBD

So if you take it and drink some cough syrup, is that classed as mixing it? which is illegal.

Why would you do that when it grows here?
