Thailand to explore injecting coronavirus vaccines under skin

Vaccination has nothing to do with body weight. The vaccine is not a drug. The vaccine is injected into the delta muscle, where it triggers an immunization process. That means it is a local application. Over time, the body learns to form appropriate antibodies. In practice, however, it is technically more difficult to penetrate all layers of skin and fatty tissue up to the delta muscle in severely overweight people. Doctors also use longer needles then.

You missed the whole point.  The article was talking about reducing the quantity of the vaccine used, and why x amount is used versus y amount, and a question was asked why a very small person would need the same or different amount of vaccine than a large person would.  Clearly smaller people have less blood, less tissue mass, etc.

If only they'd had time to prepare and purchase enough vaccine for everyone living in LOS.   Wait, what?!?

  • I wonder why AstraZeneca said it's for intramuscular injection only, preferably in the deltoid muscle?

May you do not know how a vaccine work in detail. Try to Google and read what all the

professional researchers and health professionals around the world are writing about the relationship between body weight and vaccine amount. Here is one example for you:

Professor Carsten Watzl. "In general, the same dose of 30 micrograms is vaccinated in all adult people. Whether you are a little overweight or very thin does not matter for the immune system," explains the Secretary General of the German Society for Immunology (DGfI).

Seems the same kind of stupid idea as the one they had to get 12 Shots of Vaccine from a Vial holding 10 Shots at the recommended Dosage.

The  recommended Dosage has been tried and tested by the Manufacturers, its not open for interpretation.

No wonder these Government Officials travel everywhere by Car. if the walked anywhere they would make squeaking sounds.

There is a much higher risk of injecting into a vein, when injecting intradermal. That is why it is IMPORTANT to inject intramuscular only. Injecting vaccine into a vein drastically increases the risk of blood clots (VITT). Many more people will die or get seriously sick from the vaccine, if they change to intradermal vaccinations.

No, the stupid idea would be to not use zero dead volume syringes which, unlike standard syringes, leave virtually none of the liquid in syringe. So less vaccine needs to drawn from the vial. for each injection.

Not true.

All Covid vaccines were rushed onto the market under the Emergency decree.

Not one of them was subject to a full fledged trial as other vaccines were. These trials take YEARS

Some of the phases of the trials can, and did take place at the same time.  The safety issue of mRNA had already been proven.  mRNA technology has been around since the 1990's  and some years back it was being explored for use in vaccines for Zika, Ebola and HIV.    Those trials showed that the technology was safe.   That was a big hurdle to overcome in granting Emergency Use Authorization.

The Pfizer has now received full approval.  Moderna will most likely follow shortly.
