The canal, which begins at Nakhon Nayok River and lays along Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Street through Pathum Thani to Chao Phraya River, turns into bright yellow color every season-changed period, due to the pesticides and a few other types of toxic chemicals used by farmers, Mr. Chalit Tongmanee, Chairman of Office of Nakhon Nayok Provincial Farmers Council, said it is impossible for Thai agriculturists to success in organic farming as all-natural water resources are contaminated.

From their part, farmers stated that they cannot stop using chemicals in their farms and gardens due to the lack of organic supplies and the requirements for agricultural products, especially fruits.

so explain why prices  are at an all time low for  most fruits? Im surprised any of them even bother, its  just  not worth it anymore, most  land by me is  now jungle where once it was  all farmed.

This is why I always smile at all the Vegans that come to Thailand & say so much healthy fruits & veggies it is like paradise.

Yet they live in Chiang Mai & such & have never been to a village & watched the farming

Lastly this river of yellow is not the worst of it.

Most villagers have their own shallow well for water which lies only 2-3 meters below the surface

Guess what seeps into that?
