Thai police investigate claims of drug taking and couples sharing beds in field hospitals

The authorities in Samut Prakan finally had enough and called in police, the military and DOPA officials to sort out a host of problems at the Ruam Jai 5 field hospital in Bang Pla sub-district.

There are 1,000 men and women there and there had been trouble with arguments, men and women in each others beds, possibly even drugs being used.

Daily News reported on the story though they intimated that the officials - who had to wear PPE - tried to appeal to people's better nature rather than come down on them heavily.

They asked patients to make sure they followed the rules and spared a thought for the many people outside the hospital who wanted to get in and get treatment.

Evidence about drug use was unclear and it was felt that if men and women had been sharing beds it was only getting together for a chat to relieve the boredom.

Evidence of drug use was also not clear but a quantity of regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes was found.

Also there was evidence that people outside the field hospital had been smuggling things in and that had to stop.

Unbelievable blindness.

Would it not be simpler to have single sex hospitals? The virus shows no preference, as far as I know, for which sex its infects, so the numbers must be close to 50:50 for men and women.

Anybody for sloppy seconds?

In theory yes, but can't be too safe , heavy breathing being what it is.

How can one stay in such a rat hole being sober and unshagged ? No way...

It's Guantanamo in Thailand, or worse.

Just exactly how much can a cardboard box bed bear before it falls down?

Unless for short time services I doubt it will catch on too much?

Good luck to them in hospitels.....be creative!

I'm surprised that we haven't seen a mass breakout from one of these places. It must be hell in there.

Imagine you having a nice kip and suddenly some 6 foot lady boy starts spooning you

So why are they not just putting married & long term co-habitors in the same area ? Then all the singlies in a other area ?

Me & her indoors have been together for more than 10 years, we're not married, but if her or I were put into one of these hell holes then I think I would want to be with her.

anybody knows where these beds are located in Chonburi area ?

With all those fans blowing the air around, I sure hope that none of the people there have

any variant of CIVID.  I would be happy to spend a lot of money for a hospital room with only 3 other people in it than in

a place like that in the picture.

If they're like the ones used in the Tokyo Olympics, then the answer is - probably as much as many regular beds.

Quote

They are designed to take 400 pounds, and made by Shigeru Ban, a world-famous architect who has been designing structures in paper for 30 years

Why are athletes at the Tokyo Olympics sleeping on cardboard beds?

Here's a video showing athletes jumping up and down on them with no effect.
