Thailand's Department of Health has asked for the cooperation of moo katha vendors (pork barbecue restaurants) and warned customers not to eat at the buffets.

Dr Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai chief of the department pointed out the stipulations of the 2005 emergency decree as related to dining and the potential spread of Covid-19, reported TNN

Item four in the regulations forbids places were there is self service buffet and salad bars and specifically mentions that moo katha is off limits because people gather close together and can spread disease.

The doctor itemised the measures in place for dining at all restaurants this month since they were allowed to open in deep red areas in September.

tI was a Thai doctor saying Thais must eat more SomTam as it fights Covid

Also to eat baby green onions with lots of salt.....

just keep chairs at proper distance.

As to buffets, there should be cordoned so clients will form a line and respect distance. Because they are value for many, they tend to be crowded. But much less waitresses needed, they are serving only drinks in bottles, but don't handle plates and walk with them between many other tables and passing people.

Problem with katha, that punters might dig with their own spoons. But that exactly can be a problem, when food is served in traditional manner - large plates, bowls from each for their own plate with rise

Our children just buy a pack and cook at home no need for restaurants ????

I don't use it but get complaints from someone whose wife does, and he feels she is obsessive and going nuts... she certainly looks tired. What is it all about?

I don't use it either, but my missus is addicted to it.

What's worse is she believes most of it.
