Prachuap Post reported on Facebook about the plans to reopen the holiday resort town of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan to foreign tourists - the Recharge Plan.

Hua Hin Recharge chairman Karot Rojanasathian declared that an 86 square kilometer area will be available to foreign tourists who will not need to quaratine.

He said that 80% of the local population had now been vaccinated ahead of the start of Recharge come October 1st.

All the standard operating procedures are just about ready and a booklet will be issued before the end of this month explaining what it all means.

The Hua Hin reopening is Phase 2 of the wider reopening of Thailand and includes Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Cha-Am, notes ASEAN NOW.

Rubber stamping by the CCSA authorities is expected later this week.

Sounds good on paper.

Didn't work well with Phuket but Hua Hin is very easy to get to.

"86 sq km of freedom awaits!", the worst vacation destination advertising I've ever read.

Doomed to fail. Until they fully reopen nobody is coming other than residents who want to come back and visit family so the sandbox beats quarantine in Bangkok. These muppets have not idea. Why can't you stay in your own house instead of a hotel which is solely for the purpose of filling the pockets of the amry and their mates. Every visitor will have been double vaccinated and covid tested on arrival. So why can't they stay in their own homes... Its all BS.

October opening, November closing, December re opening with caution.

Maybe January 2022 is a more likely date to have a solid opening for internationals tourists, who will

be wanting to escape the grip of a cold Winter.

Despite so called  travel restrictions Hua Hin is  accessible as ever to anyone in Thailand at the moment. All the bluff and  fluster about not travelling between provinces  has been ignored, plenty of BKK plates there every weekend and has been for months.
