Have image file that I can't get rid of on my desktop. Shows on every page I open

I have the following image file that is stuck in the bottom of my desktop.  As I open any page any site, any application, the image appears.  I have tried to right click on it and nothing.  How do I get rid of it.  The image is of the two cars shown in the attached screen shot

Do you have Sysinternal's "Process Explorer" running?

 

It has the ability to identify the process that is running and highlight it in it's list of Processes. Then you could kill it or try to determine where the source is located.

Seems that you've caught an advertisement malware while browsing those special websites or just downloading random cráp.

Try to locate any strangely named apps in the autostart list and disable it, you could view autostart list for example by pressing Ctrl+R and writing "msconfig"; this app is very useful too:

Well I ran cc cleaner, a virus scan and cleared the cache on my computer.  The latter got rid of it.  Apparently it is a ghost icon that remains in the computer memory but creates no file to delete.
