The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has approved Thailand’s Doi Chiang Dao in the northern province of Chiang Mai as a new biosphere reserve, the fifth of its kind in the kingdom.

PHUKET: The Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO, or OrBorJor) has approved setting up a centre to provide COVID tests by antigen test kits (ATKs) at cheap prices near the Phuket Check Point in Tha Chatchai to help alleviate the financial burden on those who need to cross the bridge to the mainland regularly.

Prominent doctor calls for one-month delay to Thailand’s border reopening

Dr. Prasit Watanapa, dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital of Mahidol University, is suggesting that the government take the “Phuket Sandbox” scheme into account before reopening borders on October 1st, cautioning that the country is not yet ready, due to low rates of vaccination. The reopening date should be pushed back a 1 month to ensure that Thailand is ready.
