I'm trying to have a refund processed on Shopee, but when adding a bank account the system asks for my (or the bank's?) IC number.

What is it and where can I find it?

Its the banks ID number like my Bkk bank is 6233.

It will be on your ATM card.

What else is Google for,  don't for the life of me know if they can ask here why people can't use Google and ask there.

Well, it's not. I have an SCB debit card and besides the 3-digit CVC/CVV code and the 16-digit card number, there is nothing else there.

Shopee won't accept my credit card information either.

Bangkok Bank's ID number is 002

The first 4 numbers on your bank branch debit card is your banks ID number.

Well it is on my one and codes and swift number are another thing. 

Shopee keeps saying to "Please enter a valid IC", no matter which number or combination of digits I enter.

I wonder if IC is a typing error on the Shopee website and should be BIC, which is the same as SWIFT but it is not a number.

There is a very good youtube video about this.  IC no. is your thai NRC number.

If you are a foreigner you have to ring Shopee call center 02-017-8399. They will help process this. As you have to prepare your picture. Also a copy of your passport with name signed.

If they were half awake as a company they would ask for these things when you open your account and no have you wasting hours trying to find out what the hell an IC number is when asked to add your bank account. Someone suggested phone your band I did a nd they had no idea what the letters IC stood for,

 

It's like me asking a Thai for his PN and expecting him/her to know what the hell I am talking about. My advice is go shopping to laxada who are much more organised and foreiner friendly

When Shopee asks for 'IC number" write the code from above followed by your bank account number, e.g. if your bank is KTB and account # is 111222333 then write 006111222333 into the "IC number" input field.
