Have a couple ponds on property but one is inundated with weeds. Not the type that float on the surface but actually have roots.  They are thick and and not sure how to get rid of them.  I guess a tractor could dig them out but seems like an overkill.  It has a tiny brook that that is running now and trickles during the dry season. The pond is about 15x15 meters.  There some fish that were just put in but doubt they will survive because the weeds are consuming all the oxygen.  Months ago some locals tried to drain the pond for the fish but to all our surprise there was not one fish.

I'm guessing our neighbors are draining their sewage into the pond.  I have smelled sewage a few time the last few months. Anyhow, that is a whole other can of worms I don't want to address now. Nice people that have helped with electric and water needs when needed.

Any idea of how to get rid of weeds?  I have a dry pond that is 2 meters away and might just dig a ditch between the two.
