People in over 200 riverside dwellings and businesses in 7 districts of Bangkok (Dusit, Phra Nakhon, Samphanthawong, Bang Kho Laem, Yan Nawa, Bangkok Noi and Khlong San), which are not protected by a flood wall, have been advised today (Thursday) to move their valuables to higher ground, in anticipation of a water level rise in the Chao Phraya River between now and October 5th.

Boat which sank on Chao Phraya River yesterday has been located

Rescue officials have found the submerged wreckage of the boat which capsized yesterday on the Chao Phraya-Pasak River, in front of Phanan Choeng Worawihan Temple in Ayutthaya, and divers are still searching for two missing people.

Flooding persists in 18 provinces; more rain expected

BANGKOK (NNT) - 18 provinces in Thailand are still affected by floods caused by storm Dianmu. Heavy rain is forecast to start tomorrow; the capital Bangkok however, is not expecting to see major floods like those in 2011.
