Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
PHUKET: Food and beverage outlets across the island were bustling again yesterday (Oct 1) as the measures on relaxing alcohol consumption laws were eased. Approved food and beverage venues such as restaurants were once again permitted to serve alcohol on the premises until 10pm, as per the new directive issued by Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew late last Tuesday (Sept 28) although bars and entertainment venues are to remain closed. Areas such as Phuket Town and Patong saw customers return to create a vibrant atmosphere with an increased number of Sandbox tourists evident on Bangla Rd and surrounding areas being able to enjoy a drink with their evening meals. Similarly, the roads around central Phuket Town were crowded with people and parked cars on both sides of the road. Popular Post SooKee
Well that was misleading! A far better, and more accurate, title would be 'Business owners in Phuket praise return of alcohol sales'. While the post is in the Phuket News section that fact is not picked up by the ribbon display of articles on the right of the screen when using the web interface. Don't ask. It's the science. Like everything else : maks, curfews, schools online, 1.5 meters distancing in cinemas, swimming pools closed, the "asymptomatic cases", the PCR tests with a CT of 40, etc. The science. Period. Don't ask, just obey. Edited October 3, 2021 by cclub75 8 2

Popular Post Will B Good
Went out last night in Bangkok (yes I know this is the Phuket Forum), bars were packed, drinks served in glasses, music blasting out (sadly), no masks to be seen (hard to drink with a mask), no temperature checks, no hand sanitizer being used. One bar I know of stayed open till 0500. What lockdown? 1 2

KannikaP
Why does the headline not say 'Restaurant owners.........' ? Most other Business Owners will not be affected. Edited October 3, 2021 by KannikaP

I am going to go out and get some Lamb's blood and paint it over my front door tonight. That seemed to keep out some bad things according to the Biblical Passover story.

People who reside in Phuket are much more honest and socially responsible than the rest of the country, note that the government and national civil servants do not reside in Phuket 55555555555
