BANGKOK (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha received anti-COVID drugs donated by the German government.

Georg Schmidt, German ambassador to Thailand, delivered 2,000 units of the anti-COVID-19 drug for patients with mild and moderate symptoms to contain their illness. Besides, the German government is in the process of delivering 346,100 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine made by AstraZeneca which will arrive mid this month.

Thailand and Germany agreed that both shared common potential in many dimensions and could increase the exchange of mutual benefits. Thailand is ready to facilitate the cooperation and invite German investors to increase their investment.

That sounds a-bit one sided.

Not sure if Thailand fully understands the phrase "shared potential" ?

Well, at least the Germans got a thanks for their donation. The US tried to donate 1 million Pfizer shots and the Thai government spat in their face.

Someone should tell the gov't that they are already selling it at various pharmacies in Thailand. I have a cupboard full. From personal experience it sure works. Thank you Germany. That's funny though because the box says made in Thailand....whatever.

From the picture it is: "Monoclonal antibodies".

My guess:

Bloody expensive as far as I remember (there was previous news about this donation, not that hot from the press). More than 60000 Baht per treatment?

The West has certainly helped pull Thailand through the pandemic.

I haven't heard much about Astra Zeneca production in Thailand lately.

Its unfortunate that there not more transparent.

Transparency is really difficult for Thailand for some reason.
