I would think that the restrictions and lack of testing are what's having an effect on the numbers. With the reality that herd immunity is not reachable, Thailand has a long way to go to get back

  • Again, perhaps it's more decent to save the victory lap and high-fiving, as the number of deaths, even if declining, is not 'good to see'. Attitude towards deaths seems rather cavalier.   92

Looks like anything, covid related, manufactured in China ends up being binned or slowly got rid off.

A public health doctor in Nakhon Si Thammarat warned hospitals that they should not use Lepu's ATKs because it was found to be largely inaccurate. The same Chinese made ATKs that US's FDA had warned of ineffectiveness before but the Thai government still bought 8 million of them.

High-quality tourism dream may be making the COVID-19 crisis for the industry even worse

The Phuket sandbox only achieved 38,000 visitors in its opening three months, nearly 20% of whom were returning Thais while the scheme has generated a large amount of criticism and negative reaction from both the international travel industry and tourists taking part for being too regulated, complicated and in particular, for the excessive cost and frequency of Covid 19 PCR tests for already fully vaccinated visitors.

Small business owners on Phuket say the scheme only benefits expensive hotels and resorts on the island

In Phuket itself, this has very much become a political issue with thousands of small entrepreneurs and unemployed workers in the island feeling excluded from the Sandbox scheme which they say only benefits a tiny coterie of expensive hotel properties and wealthy investors on the island.

As you seem to need clarification I will restate the obvious and say, it’s good to see the numbers dropping., so you can forget the deliberate twisting and bandwagoning. Cheers. .
