Tax Back If Leaving Before Two Years?

Featured Replies

Having been here for a year, we are now pondering our future. Does anybody know what the rules are about claiming back our tax if we leave before 2 years? My wife was recruited in the UK and I got a job once we got here. Both have work permits and are currently paying tax.

Any advice greatly received.

I've never heard of anyone getting Thai income tax back, whether after two months or two years. I'd be pretty surprised if it were possible.

It does happen, and it's got something to do with the UK-Thai Tax Treaty but trying to find out exactly how it works is proving very hard. There seems to be lots different views and 'rules' - bit like visas!!
