Sanook reported on the tragic death of a 64 year old man called Manit at rented accommodation in Soi Suksawat 58 in the Ratburana police jurisdiction in the Thai capital Bangkok.

Manit was found electrocuted in a high-backed chair next to the wall outside the bathroom.

He had fashioned a kind of makeshift electric chair to kill himself. Extension cord wires ran to a central point on his chest that was taped then to other parts of his body.

Signs of electrocution were found at ten parts of his body the media said in a detailed report.

His wife Chaleo, 56, said she had been out of work when her daughter who found the body called her.

She said that her husband had many illnesses, couldn't work and was deaf. He had just had heart surgery and spoke of wanting to commit suicide many times.

Nitaya, his adopted daughter, found the body and at first admonished him for sleeping like that before the full horror of what had happened became apparent.
