Here is copy of requirements from our go to ubonjoe from another thread....

"You will need one completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 photo attached.

Copies of your passport photo page page, visa (if any), entry stamp, pervious extension stamp (if any) and TM6 departure card. Copies need to be signed by you.

Immigration will give you any other statements and etc to complete and sign.

If you have not had TM30 report done showing your current address you will need a new one"

Here is that thread:

hello! i got a tiny problem.

Moved new apartment 3weeks ago, im still waiting the owner to do tm30.

Reception in condo has tried to contact owner many times but naah thai time....

The thing is that i need to do visa extension this week and i know already in my bones that without that tm30 they say go home.

any suggestions?

book 1 night in hotel and use that?

if use hotel, do immigration want some other info?

usually from hotel you wont get proof of adress registration. idk

You can book a night at hotel.

Obviously ask them prior if they can file a TM30 also give you printout of that being done.

They can do that, it's not difficult.

Fill in a TM28 instead of a TM30.

Using this form, they usually accept self reporting.

Think that TM28 is not being used.

In any event my suggestion is that for the covid extension they will want to see a TM30.

don't quote me on this, sorry for the late reply but when I tried giving them a TM30 once they just handed it back to me

This was for the initial visa extension I did (30 day tourist visa extension), they said it wasn't needed.

I had the TM30 filed by the time I did my covid extensions, (did 2 so far)

Normally you need to do TM30 only the first time when you get an extension in that particular province. If you move to another province, you need to do it again.

I was doing a 30 day tourist extension from entry with a 45 day visa exemption at maung thong Thani (Bangkok), no TM30 required, first time ever in Thailand.

They told this before so many times.

Sounds like you stood your ground.

I suggest anyone confronted with nonsense from io regarding obtaining a covid extension to stand your ground. Have copy of affidavit in hand. Ask to speak to senior io and as last resort suggest your about to ring 1178 for clarification.

Ubonjoe no doubt has copy of what is stated in gazette regarding covid extensions.

Perhaps immigration officers need to read and do their job in lieu of scolding visitors.

how long have you been in Thailand?

I would assume I would be told this if I went again, if they even have another covid extension, but I've just been here since July, albeit I've still stayed much longer than my "45 day visa exemption visit"

I am assuming they want those staying longer to obtain a different visa, I may be going back to Canada in January, but if not, if there is no visa extension, I will be getting a "real" visa.
