OP, Correct your insurance needs cover time that you will be stamped in for. In your case 9 months

I bought insurance for 14 days (my sandbox)

Had to show ticket out in 14 days for my COE.

Got stamped in for 90 days as per my non-B.

Cancelled my ticket out.

Smart guy:).

Risk: "Ticket out" money back received?

90 day reporting link to the COE or Thaipass data?

COE and Thailand pass is administered by MFA.

MFA and Immigrations never speak to each other.

My HR already been to immigrations and got me a nice TM47 slip.

Not got refunded for ticket yet, it was a cheap ticket to singapore.

Thanks to all, my enquiry was for a friend who is going to the UK for a week and who will have 9 months left on his retirement extension when he returns.

The insurance for those 9 months seems very heavy but compared to the inconvenience of starting again might be worth it.

Why not do it like PoorSucker, buy a cheap refundable ticket to Singapore 14 days later to show together with insurance for 14 days?

Cracking idea Odinrex, I will pass it on.

I read somewhere from that insurance had to match time left on re entry

I would be more than happy to buy a cheap ticket out and only pay for few days insurance

Can we get 100% confirmation On this as i might go to uk soon and would be returning on 8 months reentry

As it stands insurance would be more than the ticket .. incredible!

There was a post where someone was able to do that. Think came into Phuket sandbox.

My guess it was an oversight.

If you have a reentry permit or visa you will be issued a "admitted untill" date. That's the period you need to have insurance for.

Having a flight out does not alter that for obvious reasons.

Indeed I'm in similar situation.

Just renewed my annual extension this week.

Would like to visit Oz early next year and return with reentry permit. I will need insurance for approx 10 months.

Crazy IMO.

My view ..

Ticket out ..fly to Kuala Lumpur one way 800?1000bt .. bin it

Reporting .. could get smart but, immigration and Travel pass (Vax. flight in and out details, insurance for the duration) not linked ..

So technically possibly a bit iffy but has been done, and the situation kindly explainedby Rmcalssan and Poohy

I actually know two people similarly affected, one has delayed his trip the other is still considering.

I think this has created some debate on the Pattaya Forum.
