Bystander Chases & Stops Malaysian Tourists After Hit-and-Run in Pattaya
I can not say for sure but this sounds more like a made up story to cover their own butts. I seriously doubt the men paid them to serve drink at 330 in the morning. And I have doubts the ladyboys were in the car screaming to stop with them so scared. The person who chased them down and forced them to stop should be given a very big thank you from the family and police. These guys might have fled the country if they managed to escape. -

Nigel Farage: A Prime Minister in the Making? The Reform UK Leader’s Ascent
Given the stinking mess Starmer inherited after 13 years of graft, corruption and incompetence by Tories, what were you expecting in 3 months? In 13 years Tories doubled the national debt that had taken over 100 years to accumulate. From 1 tn in 100 years to 2 tn in 13 years. UK now pays an extra 200m per day ( alone ) interest servicing this financial disgrace. Truss did more damage in 30 days than Hitler managed in 6 years. Who can forget Brexit will mean an extra 300m per week to NHS?? The at least 200bn Covid black hole where cronies and bag men looted treasury at govt becking. Russian oligarchs buying up central London and titles and then laundering their money again with OK of Boris and co. The NHS is on its knees, all the infrastructure built with endeavour of post war political architects is now a feeding trough for grubby, venal Tory backers. Farage is from exact same background as these Tory bumlickers. He is a self serving, smarmy, hypocritical commission pimp. He couldn't run a raffle. Is he still living in his overseas pied a Terre with his non English wife? -

Czech Man Found Dead at Koh Larn Cell Tower in Suspected Suicide
In a tragic incident yesterday, Czech national Dalibor Vacak, 54, was discovered lifeless near a 30-metre cell tower on Koh Larn, an island in Thailand's Chon Buri province. Authorities were alerted to the situation around 11:30 am and found Vacak dressed in a black hoodie, blue shorts, and grey socks, with both legs broken — indicating a fall as the likely cause of death. His untimely demise is suspected to have occurred five to six hours before his body was found. Vacak's identity was confirmed through documents in his backpack at the scene. Police learned he traveled to Koh Larn alone, rented a motorcycle for three days, but made no accommodation arrangements, leading them to suspect suicide. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the precise cause of death, as authorities continue to coordinate with the Czech embassy to notify Vacak's family. This tragic event follows another suspected suicide on the island earlier this month, when the body of 48-year-old Japanese man Kazuhiro Ikeda was found. While the investigation is ongoing, these consecutive incidents on Koh Larn have raised concerns amongst locals and tourists alike, prompting discussions about mental health awareness and support for travellers, reported The Thaiger. If you or anyone you know is in emotional distress, please contact the Samaritans of Thailand 24-hour hotline: 02 713 6791 (English), 02 713 6793 (Thai), or the Thai Mental Health Hotline at 1323 (Thai). Please also contact your friends or relatives at this time if you have feelings of loneliness, stress, or depression. Seek help. -- 2025-03-17 -

Split AC Keeps Freezing over in exercise room
The problem is that he has somehow come to the invalid conclusion that the icing is caused by excessive humidity, which is false. Reducing humidity in the room being cooled will therefore not reduce the probability that this problem will occur. IF he REALLY wants to show that this is being caused by humidity, then he will need to buy a humidifier and a hygrometer, and then do a lot of testing to rule out other more likely causes. He will need to do trials at varying temps and humidity. Also, one possibility is that exercising in a small room, maybe with other heat-producing equipment running, is causing the temp in the room to increase. And this increase causes the AC's compressor to run at a higher percentage of the time. And this, then, is what causes the ice to form. If this is the case, then he should have the AC serviced. And, he should check the factors that have already been suggested, such as coolant pressure loss, etc. One cannot just form a hypothesis, and then not test it, and then state that it is valid. That is just NOT DONE in science. -

Help needed with buying an annuity with my personal pension funds
A lot of misinformation contained within this thread from various parties. I would agree with one of the comments to use Hargreaves Lansdown. You can transfer your entire pot to them and you do not immediately need to decide what to do with the money. It would involve transferring any holding within a SIPP. You can leave it sitting there as cash until you decide what to do. I have done this myself and transferred various pension to them and also contributed directly to my SIPP. You do not have to buy an annuity with your entire pot. That is an option. You could decide to buy an annuity with, say, £100k to cover guaranteed outgoings. You could choose to leave the remainder in cash (yes, they do pay interest on cash holdings) or invest in cautious funds or bluechip dividend paying companies. There are numerous annuity options available (all within the Hargreaves platform). flat level for life, guaranteed for a number of years, built in increases per annum etc. There are obviously sliding scales of return depending on which option you take. You could probably achieve between 8% decreasing to 4% depending which option you decide to take. Hargreaves also offer a 'health declaration' whilst seeking annuity quotes. The more health issues you have the higher the annuity income. Don't forget though, with some of the options, you will lose the pot if you suffer an untimely demise. At least if the money (or partial pot) is invested, you can detail a nominee for your remaining money to be paid to. You provide the nominee details to Hargreaves Lansdown. They have no contractual obligation to do so but will respect people's wishes to the full extent they can. There is also the option to move partial amounts of the pot into drawdown whilst receiving 25% tax free lumps. Once in drawdown, you can then withdraw an income from the drawdown pot. I would advise against moving it all at once. Just move/take what you need. This also provides the benefit of allowing the SIPP pot to continue to grow, thus enhancing any future tax free amounts. Be aware that there is an annual charge to hold within Hargreaves Lansdown of circa 0.45% per annum, collected monthly. There is no charge for holding cash and holdings of shares are capped per annum at a lower level. If you require any further information, please send me a personal message. I beg you not to listen to much of the misinformation already posted. Lastly, I had a pensionwise telephone discussion around 18 months ago. I didn't personally find it of much use but they will explain your options.
