Naew Na reported that Thais and foreigners who arrived at the Government Complex early on Tuesday morning were surprised to see an almost complete lack of security.

Only 4 of 40 guards were on duty in Building B. So Covid checks and security checks on bags were simply not being done on floors one and two.

The media managed to find one security man who said they were all employed by the same company.

Almost all of the employees had decided to take the day off after the company announced pay cuts and did not pay them as usual on the first of the month on Monday.

The complex is home to Bangkok's largest immigration office and usually has a high level of security due to it containing many government departments.

The media took many pictures showing a large number of security and screening areas completely empty.
