Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
Image: Manager Online Chiang Mai on Friday welcomed the first foreign tourists as part of its 'Charming Chiang Mai' reopening program. 83 tourists arrived on a Jeju Air flight from South Korea's Incheon airport. The flight touched down in Chiang Mai at 10.05pm. A number of senior officials, including deputy governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Thanet Phetsuwan and deputy Chiang Mai governor Ratthaphon Naradisorn were at the airport to welcome the tourists. The tourists had their temperatures taken and went through all the required checks and procedures needed for anyone visiting Thailand currently. The tourists were the then given welcome gifts from TAT before being transferred to their hotels. It is understood the 83 tourists were predominantly golfers who had come to play golf in Chiang Mai and Lamphun. A total of 1,000 tourists from South Korea are expected to travel to Chiang Mai on special charter flights to play golf between now and mid December, Mr Thanet said. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-11-07 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates Get your business in front of millions of customers who read ASEAN NOW with an interest in Thailand every month - email [email protected] for more information

Pedrogaz
Impressive result.....plus it looks like that chappie arriving with the golf clubs is going to spend money on golf courses, carts and caddies. The reset is real....don't believe the naysayers. 83 is a goos start.....it's only the 7th today. 1

Gottfrid
So, now we are bowing our necks of, and making wai´s as pros. When they had a lot of foreigners visiting and staying in Thaialnd, they made it as hard as possible to remain in the country. See, once again, what goes around, comes around.
itsari
The photograpth says it all . Thailand can only attract the wealthy traveler at the moment due to the high cost . South Koreans who want to play golf need to travel . One very cold place and not suitable for golf in the winter months . South Korea experience wind from Siberia . I have never been so cold in my life in my short stay in Seoul.

teacherofwoe
Artitya gold resort is fully booked by Koreans for a month which means I can't play there. Never mind, there are plenty of other golf courses. Problem is, they will be staying at Artitya resort and spending money mostly there and other golf courses, but nothing into the "local" economy.
