Chomper Higgot
Get a new passport and carry the old one with you.
Crossy
Knowing the way Thailand operates I'd fear the worst. You really don't want to get stuck when returning from a holiday. Assuming you have PP validity (it's just full) personally I'd wait to renew until you return to Thailand despite it being more hassle. I'm assuming that Belgium, being a civlilised country, will allow you to renew whilst in Thailand of course.

Unfortunately it's impossible, only 3 pages left, (one will be used to leave the country, and the validity is still next august Law in Belgium is if you're registered in a city, you have to renew the passport in this city, only people registered at the embassy (mostly retired) can ask the passport there
Crossy
That's a shame ???? Are you permitted to retain your cancelled old passport? Next best bet is going to be as suggested by @Chomper Higgot EDIT Is it possible to renew at your home city by mail from Thailand??

Yes I can retain my cancelled passport And no, can't renew by post cause it's biometric (fingers prints) My guess is to contact the hotel and insurance to ask to change the passport number when I know it, but it could be short in time

In your case, there are two open questions: 1. How long is your vacation in Belgium? 2. How long does it take you to get a new passport on Belgium?
