Daily News reported on the arrest of a cunning burglar who pretended to be a food delivery rider to trick complacent security at a gated housing estate in Phuttamonthon Soi 4.

Region 7 comander Pol Lt-Gen Thanayut Wuthijaratthamrong speaking at Sampran police station in Nakhon Pathom announced the arrest of Phetchaburi native Yutthasak, 39, at a house in Nonthaburi.

He was named in a warrant for burglary at night.

A large amount of jewelry and diamonds plus a Buddhist Image, fake plates and vehicles were taken into evidence.

He had stolen goods worth 5 million baht from the house and safe of a paper factory owner on 6th November.

Police said that the thief had admitted the crime and other crimes after his release from prison for similar offences in 2019.

His modus operandus was to go to luxury estates posing as a motorcyle rider delivering food to case potential victims.

Once he had found some he would return in a private car with fake plates then observe houses that were quiet and whose occupants didn't return. If they remained empty until after 10 pm he would then force entry.

He would remain inside until 5 am then make it look as though he were going off to work in the morning with the loot in his car.

He would then change his clothes and dump them, change the plates on the car back to real ones and move onto the next job.

Never really believed in keeping high amounts of valuables in a safe…$150K is way over the top…

a safe is for important legal documents, passports, family air looms, foreign currency etc

never understood why one would keep large amounts of just cash…
