Krabi itself is not on a beach,Ao Nang is probably the pick of the beach resorts in the area,it has many resort hotels with pools and good choices of restruants, The central section of beach is a shelly but a short stroll to the south end you will find sandy area for swimming.

Longtails always parked off beach to whisk you of to beautiful spots like Rallay Beach and Chicken Island.

I would recommend some nice places on Ko Ngai (southern most krabi)- you have to come though Trang in the "green" season tho.

Its very quiet here now- but still very nice and sunny.. for now..

Ao Nang is busier with more things open and YES! Railay is stunning!. good luck!
