Cambodia bans travellers from 10 African countries

Cambodia has issued a decision banning travellers from 10 countries in Africa or who have a history of traveling to these 10 countries in the last 3 three weeks. The 10 countries are Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola and Zambia.

The ban will be implemented within 48 hours and will extend until further notice.

 

The news was announced in a press release from the Ministry of Health late on the evening of Monday 29th November The press release states states that the move comes as a result of the discovery of a new strain of COVID known as Omicron or B.1.1.529 in several African countries

 
 

It adds that “Given this situation, the Ministry of Health of Cambodia has decided to ban travellers or those who have passed through 10 countries in Africa or have a history of traveling to those 10 countries during the three weeks prior to entering Cambodia”
