Sad this landmark series is ending soon, it will be missed. Got me wondering which is the best episode of all time? And which character is the most popular?

For me, there is no doubt, my favourite episode is "Pine Barrens" which is equally dark and comedic at the same time. Especially the 'bad phone signal' conversation between Paulie and TS, which still makes me laugh.

As to character, well although I was in love with Tony Soprano for years, I think it has to be Carmella. She is so long suffering, and tries so hard to do the right thing.

How about you?

PS Re-watched the series finale of Six Feet Under, season five, the final finale. Always gives me goose bumps. The creator of this series (Alan Ball who wrote and directed this particular episode) has left no room whatsoever for a comeback, unlike David Chase and the Sopranos.

English Lady, no question, hands down best episode was when Tony and boys took Big Pussy out on the boat and whacked him. Best TV ever... Forgot the episode #, but I'm sure you know it. :o

I think the greatest mistake they ever made was killing off Adrianna. She was one of the best characters ever and should have been here at the end coming up. I doubt anyone would disagree.

for me it was the episode when tony killed ralphy, and then chrissy chopped him to bits. never saw it coming and when chris realises he was wearing a wig....priceless.

shocked at the wig but chopping off his hands, feet and head?.....easy

best tv series EVER.

One classic line amongst so many, a series to be missed for sure.

Loved it when Sylvio whacked Adrianna, that was some cold blooded sh1t.

I've got one episode left to watch and that's it. :o

the episode where Tony and Paulie and Christopher go to Italy, or the Pine barrens classic. Also the scene where the Mercedes dealer girlfriend gets warned to stay away from Tony was chilling.

Favorite Character has to be Paulie Walnuts

Paulie for me :o

Best TV ever...with Deadwood runnng second.

I once watched the first 3 series back to back while I was waiting for my house to be finished....took me about 5 days.

I never got to see the final series...does anyone know where I can get a copy?

Tony, Tony, TonySoprano!!!!! my Fav is the last episode in the second last series where Tony is pushing through the snow towards his and Carmella's house after running from the FBI

to the sound of Van Morrison 'Glad Tidings from New York'. Sooo good - I had to get the CD.

Just a note for you hard core Soprano addicts. The final episodes 13-20 are in hand for some of us in Thailand. The absolute final episode airs Sunday night (21). That will be the end of it.

For those of you in Pattaya, PM English Farang Lady as the point person; for those in BKK or Phuket PM me. Evidently, the Changmai'ers have a source.

Happy viewing! Don't get whacked in the process...

I'm sorry, but I'll be the first to take you up on that.

Although she was vaguely attractive (for, say one evening's fun) and the actress is a decent one, the character of adriana p1ssed me right the fukc off throughout. and of course worse the day she started betraying the family. i get that she was in a bind etc etc etc.. . but i felt too close to the sopranos to be able to watch her betraying them. I wanted to call tony adn tell him, but... but... it's fiction! :o

Tony.

He's the dude, plain and simple.

Walnuts, yeah... He's funny, but he's got too many issues.

For me the the capo del cool has got to be Sylvio. He takes care of business. Doesn't complain, goes an extra step always, and has a handle on things. he's the ultimate captain.

Loved the episode where sylvio has to try to cover up the "accidental" death and tries to keep Tony from coming into the office.

Kayo, your critique of Adrianna is well taken. However, what made her a great character was the fact that Christopher truly loved her, that she had a duality to her that allowed Christopher to be a hard core drug user, gangster and bad boy, but at the same time hold out hope to be a family man; she was accepted by all the family; and finally, that as Christopher was the heir apparent to the family, she was the perfect Don's wife. For that reason, when she left, Christopher lost his lock on inheriting the crown, and for that reason, the series lost its heir apparent, which for me, diminished the series to an extent.

Yes. very well written. I do particularly agree that she was the right character for a growth into a future don's wife. Carmela also mostly treated her as such... like a daughter, grooming her for a potential future.

I do also think she should have at least given Tony head, in the car the night they crashed. :D

Yep, I agree, and they both wanted that. Ok, tonight USA time (Sunday night) is the last episode. Please don't anyone spoil this for us in Thailand as we will get this some days or weeks late in Thailand.

Well, I liked Adrianna, in particular, when she spoke to Chris-tuh-fuh. But a case could be made for a lot of them. This was a good show that held my interest much like that long series a few years back called Tenko, in the women's prisoner of war camp under Japanese control.

cool. Have been waiting for the 2nd half of the season to finish airing. Am downloading it now!! :oelephant1wt0.gif

I just got done watching the series finale here in the U.S. I was very disappointed and that is all I will say about it.

Paulie Walnuts is my favorite because he always made me laugh with the stuff he said.
