As the chilly weather in Cambodia lingers, provincial and national officials continue to distribute winter clothing to the country's aged and needy.

The Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration contributed to almost 7,000 persons on December 8th. Winter jackets, among other things, were handed around the province to the elderly and disadvantaged to keep them warm throughout the cold spell.

According to a representative from the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Finance Office, the project is on the Board of Governors' agenda. On the morning of December 8, the first donation location was in a restaurant in Phnom Srok, and the second donation site would be in Serei Saophoan City. At the second location, distributions will take place in the afternoon of the same day.

More distributions would be made on December 9 at Borey Chey 2 Market, Chamkar Ta Dok, Mongkul Borey District, according to the official. The next day, another distribution will take place at Po Van Nak Dry Port in Poipet City in the afternoon.

Sweaters, blankets, scarves, tea, condensed milk, sugar, oil, and salt are among the items distributed to the elderly. There were also cots available.

According to the Provincial Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, Banteay Meanchey has 6,602 senior individuals aged 70 to 80.
