Jack's 5am Visa Run, What Time Return?

Featured Replies

Hello! I am about to do the 5am or 5:30 (the website says different times on different pages) visa run with Jack's Golf. The website says that it returns at 12:30. From what I've read on this forum, most people say they return around 5pm but these are usually later departure times. I was just wondering if any who has done the 5 or 5:30am visa run, what time does it actually return?

:o I've never heard of this, what is it?

Hi

No chance of getting back that early. I always got back about 5ish

Have you read this?

Have used Jacks 5am service a few times and have always got back around 1-2ish.

As for the rant that Astral links to, i am bemused. I have always found Jacks a pretty good service. At the end of the day if you were conveyed to Poipet on a magic cloud as 20 virgins plied you with the finest drinks and fed peeled grapes to you, it would still be a miserable day out.

Jack just about makes it tolerable. As for being 'stuck' in the casino, Im happy with that. No chance of a flutter in BKK.

Maybe I just had incredibly bad luck with Jack's, but I've heard other people complain that they always return to Bangkok really late as well. It seems they don't really know how to stick to a schedule.

If you want an early trip, I would recommend Fine Day Tours. I went with them a few times. They leave at 4:50 am and return to Bangkok at 1-1:30pm. Number is 0816217598 or 0819843134. I haven't used them since before the new visa rules came into place, so it's possible they've stopped going, but it's worth calling.

I did one with them last month and was back in Bangkok by 2pm. It's a lot faster than the one that leaves at 7:30, because the border they go to on that one is further away AND you're coming back in rush hour traffic.

Whoops sorry I meant I went with Jack Golf.

Yes they have; stopped I mean. FWIW Fine Day Tours (081-984-3134) join East Meets West Travel who have suspended their respective 'Visa Run' services.

So has East Meets West Travel stopped going also?

Uh huh (Yes). :o

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to go ahead with the Jack's Golf visa run at 5am. Hopefully nothing goes wrong with the bus/van as it did in the other thread.

Did the run and got back at 3pm. As uneventful as ever, but we did seem to be in the casino longer than normal.

Getting back into the kindom did take longer as a 100 or so Cambodians seemed to be coming through. As they all seemed to be carrying their belongings and were then seen sat down in rows while being adressed by a smartly dressed fellow, I can only presume they were coming across for work.

I mention this because it took ages to be processe these guys, so the queue was longer and slower than normal.
