The doctor found yesterday that Premchai had many chronic diseases including hypertension and fatty liver and he had just undergone cataract surgery, Mr. Ayut said.

As I said yesterday, here comes the medical opt-out.

Quite right. Because it also didn't stop him from serving as company president and siphoning off all the profits, a large chunk of which contributed to his morbid obesity, hypertension and fatty liver

I have seen and known people in prison without limbs and others succumbing to real life threatening diseases such as cancer and AIDS at a young age.

Being ' allergic to prison ' is not grounds for release.

"Many chronic diseases"???  Only two were mentioned and both probably caused by his obesity,  As for his cataract surgery, that is a common problem many face as they age,  I have had cataract surgery on both eyes and neither time was my eye so sloppily bandaged,  His arrival at court was staged theatrics and all for show.

Karma is a Bitch .

Looks to m e Karma is his Bitch, at least so far. Not gonna do any jail sentence; too rich.

I posted this yesterday:

I remember a VIP being sentenced to prison a few years ago. He spent a few hours there before 'falling ill' and being transferred to a fancy hospital suite. Then, as usual, the media lost interest and I don't know how long he was there.

And, as sure as night follows day.......

Unless a different VIP , this reminds me of Kamnan Poh.

"To serve his term of two years and 14 months?"

Actually it's 1 year and 26 months. Or to be even more accurate, it's 6 times half a year plus 2 times 30 days.

And so it begins. Barely 24 hours in and already preparing for his departure. There are many people in prison who are in considerably worse condition, but we don't hear about them. Fatty here is the sick boy on the block, must take good care of him.

Be a man Fatty. You did the crime, now do the time.

Isn't it ironic how this "man" - in his serious condition and basically with one foot in the grave - was nevertheless perfectly able to embark on random camping trips in the jungle?

Bloody amateur! He should've turned up like this at his court appearances to avoid jail time altogether.

I agree, actually it's comical to imagine his aides slapping on the bandage in the parking lot. What a farce. How dumb do they think people are? Here is a so called captain of industry levelled to a common crook. They should add on several years of jail time for bad acting on the jail term he'll never serve.

Don't rich Thais just pay someone who looks vaguely like them to serve their prison sentence?

The watchman will need to cover an eye again.

Hypertension is a matter of diet and exercise, fatty liver is again diet and no booze - both is easily arranged inside a prison.
A cataract surgery is, today, an issue between two cups of coffee - the drawback is, that he will see the manure he is in much clearer now.

How can such an oligarch pr1ck expect any compassion for what he did - the panther had neither hypertension, fatty liver and the animal's eyesight was not good enough to see this human coward's intension .......... fatal for the panther and non-fatal for this pristine example of a hypochondriac embarrassment!

Its quite amazing how he was diagnosed with these complaints within 24 Hours of entering the Prison.

I guess they they were found found in a " bend over and spread em " moment upon entry, whilst looking for Drugs/ Mobile Phones Etc.

Or in his case - Animal Skins.

Common sense isn't an illness.

Plan B I expect.

As we speak there will be minions scurrying around looking for fat ugly bastards with debts which need settling!

Of course this is all been scripted. When you have gullible people even on Thai Visa Forum @josephbloggs who were adament yesterday that this was the end and he was to late to get out of it.

He should have eaten his veggies instead of panther soup. No sympathy from me, none whatsoever.

Thanks for mentioning me.  I was replying to people saying he has his plane waiting and will be escorted to the airport to flee the country.  I said that can't happen and it hasn't - if they were going to let him off it would have happened before trial or alternatively the Supreme Court could have overturned the lower court.  They didn't.

None of that has changed.  He is trying to weasel himself in to a hospital, he is not being allowed to flee the country.

One could be forgiven for thinking it was all for show. Just sayin' ????

I'm now convinced that in many places, not just Thailand, it's never too late to get out. Simply a question of how many cogs to grease before the doors open smoothly.

I've had all three for many years but I just get on with things.

Mild medication over 20+ years and a scheduled cataract procedure in the new year will see me good to go. (Pun intended).
