webfact
Picture: Daily News Daily News quoted senior sources in the ruling Palang Pracharat party after a meeting headed by DPM Prawit concerning the party's candidate for the next governor of Bangkok. They reported that it is "highly likely" that candidate will be Narongsak Osotthanakorn who is known in the Thai press as the "Wild Boar Governor" - Phu Wa Moo Pa. This is because he was the local governor that did a recognised good job helping rescue teams to save the football team and its coach from the cave in Chiang Rai in mid-2018. At least before he was unceremoniously stripped of his role by PM Prayuth after stepping on his toes. He is now governor in Pathum Thani and has asked for two weeks to consult his familt before a final decision is made. Popular Post Sydebolle
A good man, wish him luck and if he is really smart, he just stays put in Phayao. Bangkok is too close to the music and many before him were failed - word to the wise!
Grusa
Not, you understand, that I have any say, vote or influence in this matter..... this is the only guy I would support for any political position here. But, no doubt, my confidence would be misplaced in the usual fashion, were he to win. Am I some kind of cynic....?
