Thailand has been ranked 5th place, and 1st place in Asia, in the 2021 Global Health Security Index. In 1st place are the United States, followed by Australia, Finland and Canada.

The 2021 Global Health Security Index, released on Wednesday, ranks 195 countries according to their capacity to respond to epidemics and pandemics, as assessed by John Hopkins Centre for Health Security, at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health, and experts from numerous countries.

More than 80% of countries have no plan for distributing vaccines or medications during an emergency, while 70% lack sufficient capacity hospital capacity, clinics and health centres, the report found.

This is either a sham index or someone made a mistake. Thailand was way behind on preparedness and in getting vaccines out. It closed borders and sat on its hands.
How can having a maximum capacity of testing 50,000 people per day out of a pop of 70M be an accomplishment?

It has cooked the books in getting around the data on that onerous list. Jumping the likes Israel and China. Lol

Thailand, US, Australia, top 5? What a absolute joke

Canada???   Our prime mincer, when he's not applying blacking to his face, responds to pandemics by sending $2000 per month to all who prefer to sit at home and watch Netflix.

One has to assume you didn't think much of the response in 2002 either.

I’m sure your ‘data’ is accurate, I mean just look at China’s numbers….

If you believe that, you just lost all credibility.

Thaibashing and ignorance at its worst.  It is a p perfectly correct report. Thailand has been known for years as one of the leading countries in dealing with tropical diseases and pandemics.

If you like bashing a a country why not the UK. It has 15 times the amount of daily infections compared to Thailand. It is flip-flopped with a lot of confusing regulations and it has the highest death rate per capita in the world from the virus. The late rollout of vaccines was nothing to do with Thailand's health services. It was the present government who caused this and we all know why

A troll post using an oversized trolling emoji has been removed, again.

I found the vacine rollout very good after a slow start,as a falang i got great quick free jabs no problem and they were not the chinese ones,

Also when ill have had good response and reasonable cost healthcare at a govt hospital.

You do have proof of all you are saying above with your UK bashing?

Because according to this trusted report the UK comes in at number 26!

And first in being the most racist country in the WHOLE WORLD and to the best of my knowledge the ONLY country in the world to do that, for giving vaccines to foreigners leaving them to last, after making them jump through more hoops than a circus, and giving all personal detailed info on a site made just for them, that a lot of people could not upload all photos on.

Yes,

Thank you very much the USA for the donation to Thailand of the Pfizer vaccine which enabled myself as a UK national to be vaccinated as well as many others from Europe and around the world including Thais.

Maybe I've misread the post but wasn't the ranking for countries ability in responding to the pandemic? Not the casualties per capita.

Considering Thailand were still  negotiating to procure more vaccine 2 years after the pandemic struck they surely cannot be labeled as quickly responding? ????
