Then, during the Iran–Iraq War, Saddam Hussein invaded Iran and used chemical weapons while receiving support and tolerance from Western states. If you were in Iran’s position, would you not develop a deep sense of distrust? A belief that powerful countries are willing to intervene, destabilise, or even back your enemies when it suits them? That doesn’t make Iran’s government blameless far from it. Its human rights record is deeply troubling, and its treatment of dissent and minorities deserves criticism. But here’s the contradiction: many of the same governments that condemn Iran maintain close alliances with countries like Saudi Arabia, where similar or worse abuses are documented. So what are we really saying? That human rights matter but only when it’s geopolitically convenient? You can criticise Iran’s leadership and still recognise that its suspicion of foreign powers is rooted in real and very bloody impreilaistic events, not paranoia. You can oppose its internal repression while also questioning whether external threats and sanctions actually make things better or simply reinforce a siege mentality which is where we are now If we want credibility in international politics, we need consistency. Otherwise, calls for intervention start to look less like moral responsibility and more like selective outrage. Maybe the real question isn’t just “What is Iran doing wrong?” It’s also: “What have others done to Iran and are we willing to acknowledge it honestly?” And overarching all of this is Isarel that has dragged Trump duplicitously into this war and who cares not for the costs to the rest of the world. So while you are driving around looking for gas seeing poor this facing vere incraesing costs and interruptions to their alredy diffcult lives - remember who di this whose fingerprints are on the pump - Isarel's. This is an illegal war that didn't need to happen and unless Trump conmes to his senses and sees that and his base collapsing we are all the losers. Stay out of meddling in the Middle East Uncle Sam and the threat such as it is will reduce to almost nothing. You never needed Israle once you have the royal families of the Gulf States in your pockets who were your mates but now you have stirred up this pot needlessly you are threatening them a net benefit to the US whilst advancing Isarel's security concerns which are a net cost - why the hell is US transferring $4 Billion to Isarel every year - let them pay their own bills.
