Foghat with Sweet Home Chicago off of their '78 Stone Blue LP.

 

 

Sweet Home Chicago recorded on November 23, '36 in Room 414 of the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, and released in August '37 by Robert Johnson.

 

 

Junior Parker recorded the song as an upbeat ensemble shuffle, with harmonica accompaniment in '58.

Here's Grateful Dead's live version performed at the Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY on February 21, '71.
 

 

Peter Rowan was lead singer and guitarist for Seatrain in the early 70's.  Creepin' Midnight was a sweet number off of their '70 Seatrain album.

 

 

Seatrain was also well known for their outstanding rendition of the classic bluegrass number, Orange Blossom Special, written by Ervin T. Rouse in '38.
