webfact
Picture INN Dr Kiatphum Wongjarit at the Ministry of Public Health said that Covid-19 cases were slightly more than expected and that deaths were slightly less in the latest stats. But of paramount concern at the moment are clusters at New Year. To assuage the affect he urged Thais to get ATK tests before returning home from their holidays. Once home they should work from home for 14 days if possible. If they have to go back to work in person then they should take an ATK test first then two more tests three days apart, reported INN. He said that a bubble and seal approach will mean that factories will not need to be closed. Everyone should be on a symptoms watch for 14 days after mixing with others during the holidays. Crossy
Sounds sensible. The office want a negative ATK test plus a "timeline" of where we've been over the holiday period.

wasabi
They think they will test their way out of the pandemic. All the while increasing restrictions and throwing the economy in the dumpster. Meanwhile the rest of the world recognizes Omicron is the end game for Covid and are gradually easing restrictions and moving on with their lives. Everyday a new set of rules from germaphobe control freaks who should not be in tactical decision making rules. very doubtful this manic testing puts even a small dent in omicron. Furthermore better to let it rip and get to herd immunity. Tests can be wrong. People are flawed, you cannot control the uncontrollable. Popular Post Gandtee
I wonder how many foreigners after doing their own test will keep schtum and self isolate to avoid a lengthy and costly hospital incarceration?

Anyone with a modicum of sense probably will self-isolate (I would), unless they display serious symptoms of course. Asymptomatic hospitalisation is not covered by many insurance policies (mine doesn't) and the insurance specifically aimed at these cases may well not pay due to too many claims pushing the insurers over the edge.

I take a rapid test at home before any occasion that I might be forced to take one that could land me in quarantine. If I test positive, I will isolate. I would have felt guilty about that a year ago, but not now.
