Speed Boat Catches Fire In Phang Nga

Featured Replies

A speed boat caught fire in Phang Nga, but the passengers are safe.

This is a photo taken from a mobile phone belonging to Niphon Chalad who was in a boat accident yesterday morning. The speed boat was reported to belong to a German national who took it out on a trial before a proposed sale at 2.2 million baht to a Norwegian client. It occurred around 500 metres from the shore near Bangpat village. During the test, the engine blew up when the man speeded up, followed by a fire. Niphon then said he grabbed a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, but the fierce flames forced all to jump into the water. Fortunately many fishing boats were around and rescued all 4 people. No serious injuries were reported.
