Ive read many times that many guys say they are not of much use, well i used mine on mor prom months ago and was vacinated straight away, and this weekend was out with the family ,went to 3 govt places where it was free for Thai 200 baht for falang was told i had to pay, showed the card " oh no problem ,no charge,"so the pink card seems to be a good thing to get

Pink Card.     Yes of course it’s useful but don’t tell Jing. lol

Well it's cheap ,but not so easy to get in some places,as you first

need a yellow book to get it.

I have had mine for years, but only had use for it once , I had

opened up a new bank account , and the manager was showing

me how to change my PIN number in the ATM , he was entering

the account number in , then my passport number, drivers license

number, none of them would allow him to get in , so I just thought

the only other thing I had with a number on was the Pink card ,he

entered that number in and it worked ,

Oh... this merry-go-round again....

For some it's useful, for some it isn’t.

Others think foreigners who have the Pink ID act as if it gives them more power !

Others argue it's not a legal ID at all.

Others argue it's a ‘migrants ID’ and means you have to remain in the area of issue.

Others point out its useless for a driving licence as it then doesn’t permit you drive outside of your area.

The reality - your mileage may vary.....

I have found it useful, it has added convenience and saved me money - I’m glad I spent the effort to get it.

The Yellow Tabien Baan and Pink ID adds a degree of convenience, but they are by no means necessary and everyone can ‘get by’ without one.

Mine has never seen the light of day.

I found it useful in getting myself vaccinated. IMO it will also be useful for domestic air travel.

I use mine quite often, where ever I'd is asked for ID / PP.  Used just yesterday for bank withdrawal.  Always for hotel check in, as avoided TM30 filings in the past, not necessary now, I think.

how do you get it? is it conditional to your VISA status even if you own property in Thailand?

Good question: I’m not sure if you can get one on a ‘tourist visa’ or ‘visa exempt stamp’....

There are plenty of threads about how to get the Pink ID which is basically a simple and cheap ‘add on’ to the Yellow Tabien Baan house book.

The Yellow Tabien Baan house book is obtained from the local Amphur office and may involve a little ‘hoop jumping’....  such as an MFA verified translation of an Embassy Certified copy of your Passport.

There are plenty of threads about how to get the Yellow Tabien Baan house book, but the best information will come from your local Amphur as some are more relaxed than others.
