A new political party was launched by former ministers from the ruling party on Wednesday. The party, Sang Anakot Thai or Building Thailand’s Future, was formed by former finance minister Uttama Savanayana and former energy minister Sontirat Sonthijirawong.

They were joined by former higher education, science and innovations minister Suvit Maesincee and former prime minister’s office minister Kobsak Pootrakul.

All four of them, collectively known as the “Four Boys” group, resigned from the ruling Palang Pracharath Party after a leadership change within the pro-military party’s executive board in June 2020.
