The newsworthiness of the article, I believe, is that whereas rice was hitherto transported to China by sea, this is the first time that transport was by rail. January 21, 20224 yr The inland train network will bring tremendous benefits in terms of shorter and reliable mode of transport than shipping and will unlock the opportunities for more trade for the hinterlands. Doubt it will change those minds that are conditioned to China bashing.

I know a couple of chinese citizens living here that make their living buying up fruits and vegetables by the container load and shipping it to China.

The Chinese exports of animal products are clearly dominated by marine and aquatic products.
