Line Out as input to headphone amp

Featured Replies

Simple question as the subject suggests so wondering if any tech savvy people can answer.  My main amp does not have a headphones out jack, it does however have a Line out.  I wish to use a headphone amplifer so could I use the Line out from my main amp as the input feed to my headphones amp ?

Yes.

Or you could connect the phones to the speaker outputs but KEEP THE VOLUME VERY LOW.

That potentially could blow the headphone amp

I meant omitting the headphone amp.

Of course, it could vapourize the phones if too loud!

Well then that could burn the headphones.  But I need the amp for multiple headphones, but as you kindly suggested before then if the Line out from my main amp can be the input feed for my headphone amp then problem solved. Since your reply to my 1st post I have checked the Line output/headphone amp  max/min voltage  resistances and they appear to be within spec . Thanks for you help as it was somewhat confusing initally when I googled the problem.
