The Office of the Attorney-General (OAG) in Thailand has resolved to file malfeasance charges, under Section 157 of the Penal Code, with the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders against exiled former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra over the illegal transfer of Thawil Pliensri, secretary-general of the National Security Council back in 2011.

Secretary-General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) Niwatchai Kasemmongkol told the media today (Monday) that a joint committee of the NACC and the OAG have agreed that there is sufficient grounds for the OAG to indict Yingluck, as proposed by the NACC.

In 2020, the NACC faulted the former prime minister for abusing her power when she transferred Thawil to the Prime Minister’s Office in 2011. He was succeeded by the then national police chief, Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree.

I am wondering what they will do with the current Government.. After so many years many will be dead already before they can be charged it seems... When do they look to the future instead of looking back to all the things that could be wrong..

What is the point of this, I mean she is already disqualified from politics and on the run. No big fan of the PTP and  Yingluck but this is pointless.

Besides its not like the current mob is not doing any dodgy transfers. They all want their people in places of power. Just look at the supreme court guy that is bending the rules to stay there.

This is so sad...

But then, she could be living happily in Thailand if she wouldn't have followed the advice from her greedy brother.

And what was the reason he got transferred?

So much lack of essential information in this article but enough to feel blessed that my mother's womb was not in this country when I crawled out ...

But Theresa may not let you, even though you were only using her as a comparison.????

Her brother was Thaksin Shinwatra...former PM who was also overthrown by the military while he was out of the country....or something like that.

They need some sort of sleight-of-hand misdirection to keep things off balance.

The Shinawatras are the convenient and ever popular scapegoats among these corrupt classes.

When in doubt, pull out the Thaksin or Yingluck cards.

The dreamy paranoia will undoubtedly run deep for years to come - regardless of who's running the show.

Thaksin allegedly had a child when he was 20 years old.

First there was covid

Then came Ukraine and the threat of nuclear war

The first two I could put up with , but this !!!

It's just the snowflake that broke the elephants back.

I'm hitting the Lao Khao hard tonight.

Based on internet search, that would make Thaksin 17 when she was born.

I really don't think Yingluck would be bothered about these made up charges....

Give it a rest guys. Know you're making sure she doesn't get back in, but just move on. At least try to make the people like you (lol); starting with the red bull perp, sorting out soi dogs, getting the economy on track etc etc etc.

you might also want to charge people who form coups to seize the government illegally.

I would.

No wonder LOS appears to be 100 years behind when they constantly are looking back actually not unlike us expats feeling a lot younger with a young bride by our side ...

Maybe this will be a problem for Thailand as the last I heard of her is that she is a Chinese Citizen with a high powered Job in the Chinese Ports industry

Oh my God! Who is it that are sitting searching for this stuff. Are they bunkered in a cellar somewhere with 1 000 boxes of documents like in the KGB era? Maybe they even have a bonus system when they find something.
