Interesting is, that she is being referred to as "exiled former prime minister" whereas I thought, that  she was an "elected" politician who got "couped" out of office by the present place holders in funny dresses and squeaky shoes ....

Amazing this is the best case/charge they could come up with? And why now?

 

Surely she committed some heinous crime, like jay-walking, and a young child.

 

 

They don't need to go back to 2011 to look for corruption...its happening right now right under their own noses! Talk about red herrings!

So the former prime minister that attained her position from a national election is being charged with abusing her powers ???????????? Glass houses and throwing stones springs to mind.

If memory serves, didn't he basically announce that he didn't like her, or her government's policies, and therefore was not going to carry out their instructions.

 

Seems quite a reasonable stance for a senior civil servant to take - quite unreasonable to sack him!

 

Still, if they're concentrating on this then they won't be looking at the Red Bull business, mass graves for trafficked Rohingha, sudden unexplained wealth amassed in connection with the procurement of medical protective equipment and vaccines or any other of dozens of actions which could be regarded as malfeasance!

Anything to distract from the truth. Prayuth has done everything in his power to protect corrupt cops, the super rich, his men in customs, border patrol, immigration, and within the noxious army. 

 

He came in with the pretense of being Mr. Clean. He has turned out to be the opposite. We see who you are. There will be a stench and a cloud upon your family for generations to come. Best to simply resign, change your family name, and move your family overseas. Few will miss you.

If, by some sleight of hand, she appeared on a ballot paper, they know that she would win a landslide, even now.

 

They cannot face that, have to keep at it...

The family was very popular with ordinary people. Some understand that were they to return, there would be some fear among the people now in power that they also would be charged. Keeping the family out of Thailand until one side or the other dies is the only way they can rest easy.

Meanwhile, real criminals like Boss are allowed to wait until charges are dropped to return to their family and face no consequences.

Good heavens.  With all the blatant corruption in this country, from top to bottom and back up again, the National Anti-Corruption Commission has to go after Yingluck?  If there is one clear message in all this it is that there is NO INTEREST in actually doing anything about corruption in Thailand.  There is no hope.

She will lose sleep over this?

The OAG's charge is a sham from a legal perspective. 

 

On May 7, 2014 the Constitutional Court (CC) had already ruled that Yingluck violated Sections 266-268 of the Constitution.

The OAG charge seems more timed with the unscheduled next election to benefit Prayut's re-election.

 

The CC's decision in May 2014 followed an agreement between the Yingluck caretaker government and the Election Commission to hold a new election on July 20, 2014 after the CC nullified the February 2014 General Election that was expected to give Yingluck's party a House of Parliament majority and retain Yingluck as PM.

Coincidently, on May 22, 2014 Gen. Prayut overthrew the government in a military coup and assumed absolute power under the provisions of a newly junta-written Interim Constitution until the next election in March 2019 after the junta rewrote the Constitution. Several years later the CC ruled that such power was legal.

I am always quite amused by such "immunities" and "twenty year plans".

 

If another government, of a different hue, comes to power either through election or an uprising, then the immunity will be removed and the plan abandoned.
