Six illegal migrants killed, five seriously injured in road accident in Prachuap Khiri Khan

Six illegal migrant workers from Myanmar were killed and twelve others injured, five seriously, when a pickup truck in which they were travelling crashed into a roadside barrier and was then rammed from behind by a van in Thailand’s southern province of Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Seven Thai students charged with assault in university hazing death

Seven university students have, so far, been charged with assault causing the death of another person in a fatal university hazing ritual, involving students from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, said Chief of Nakhon Ratchasima’s Maroeng police station Pol Col Kanasanan Suwannasup, Wednesday.

Thai and Russian Authorities Assisting Tourists Affected by Russia-Ukraine Crisis

TAT extends tourism cooperation with Japan’s Sendai City and Tohoku Region

Thai Chamber of Commerce urges government to cancel pre arrival RT-PCR test to attract international arrivals

Bangkok – The Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand (TCC) urged the Thai government to cancel the pre-arrival RT-PCR test for international arrivals before entering the country and speed up the shift of the Covid-19 pandemic to endemic in order to boost the recovery of the domestic economy.

Pattaya mayor to speed up Tawaen Pier bridge’s restoration on Koh Larn

Koh Larn, Pattaya-  Mr. Sonthaya Khunpluem, the Pattaya mayor, gave an update on the restoration project of the Tawaen Pier bridge on Koh Larn, Pattaya, stating that the bridge has been in operation to accommodate visitors who want to come to Koh Larn for nearly 25 years and it is time for it to be restored and repaired.

Plans underway for no-mask requirement in Thailand’s public parks

Fourteen injured - four seriously - as car collides with song thaew taking students home in NE Thailand

Chonburi announces 1,231 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 and four new deaths

Highlights:

1,231 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Chonburi today

4,978 positive ATK (rapid antigen) tests were reported but all require a second confirmed PCR test before being counted as official cases. The ATK positive tests are just “possible” cases until confirmed by PCR. TPN notes, however, that second confirmed tests are no longer mandatory except for high-risk groups.

804 (PCR) and 1,964 (ATK) recovered and were released from medical care

Applause for allowing migrant workers to stay on in Thailand

This week, the Thai cabinet made a commendable decision to allow legal migrant workers from Myanmar, Cambodia and the Lao PDR, who have been working in Thailand for four years, to stay until 2024 after their current work permits expire.
