Well yes they will just take your passport and your existing bank book account and ask to open another account which is usually called a investment account.

I have 2 accounts with my Bkk bank one savings and one investment.

Of course.  We have 7 accounts with the same bank, all savings accounts.

Officially, no - not unless on Retirement visa - or with a work permit.

I have 2 for the reasons mentioned above, I keep one with the bulk of my money without an ATM and transfer to my other account if needed. Trying to explain this to a bank manager can be hard work, but they will relent with perseverence.

You could go to another bank, but I prefer the convenience of a single banking app.

Just bear in mind, though, that, should you open a second account with Kbank, both accounts will be singly covered by the 1,000,000 THB Deposit Protection Agency guarantee limit. In other words it won't be 1,000,000 THB for one account and a further 1,000,000 THB for the second account!

If I were in your shoes, I would probably be more inclined to spread the jam relatively thinly among separate accounts with separate banks than putting all my financial eggs into 1 basket (aka bank) - depending on the amount(s) involved, of course.
