My iPad VLC Remote works great connecting to an old old MacBookPro. I would like it to connect to my newish HP laptop. Is this possible? I tried but the iPad VLC does not see it’s pc brother. Any tricks?

Is VLC running on the PC? Is it up to date?

Is the PC Wi-Fi turned on?

Are you on the same network?
Is the PC running an ftp or sftp server? 

Are ports 21 and 22 open on the PCs firewall?

Is sharing via Wi-Fi turned on on the PC?
