Was signed out of yahoo mail for some reason last night.

Asked to sign in with password, no issues.

Then it wanted to send verification link to recovery e-mail address, this is not possible as it's a work e-mail address that no longer exists.

Been on all the yahoo 'help' links and pages and it looks like i'm totally screwed???

I've had this e-mail address 20 years, lots of sub folders and many address's i do not have saved.

Any one out there have a fix or experience with this?

Thanks in advance.

Taken from wiki how;

Go to https://login.yahoo.com/forgot in a web browser. This website will help you recover your Yahoo account by sending a confirmation code to your backup email address or phone number.[1]

  • You must have access to your recovery email address or phone number to restore your account. If there's no way for you to access those accounts, you can speak with someone from Yahoo's support team for a small fee.[2] To do so, go to https://help.yahoo.com/kb/account and click Speak with a live agent near the top-right corner of the page.

Speaking to an agent would look like your only option

Thanks.

I've been round and round on that webpage, i've no problems with the fee but i can't call the 0800 number from overseas.

I'm very annoyed about this, will continue to search for a solution but don't hold out much hope.

Thanks for the suggestion tho.

This happened to me about 2 weeks ago - similar,  an ID that is @ 30 years old.

I got the message check your alternative email for verification ( didn't recognise backup email mask).

I left it for the day, tried the next day and logged straight in.

It did give me a kick up the ar*e to check all my alternative emails to ensure they were valid & operational.

Hopefully it sorts itself out.

Thanks, hope so too.

Will try tomorrow to see if it's any better.
